We’ve had some great applications for the Manchester Leadership Programme for Researchers – but mainly from engineers and physical scientists. You have a final chance to add the voice of Humanities PhDs.
We have lots of enthusiastic local community groups with real projects ready to complete, all keen to tap into the expertise of our PhD volunteers, and also help you further develop your leadership skills. Therefore, we’re adding a few more places, reserved for Humanities PhDs, to ensure our interdisciplinary projects benefit from the unique perspective which humanities disciplines can bring.
You’ll get to work on live projects, take part in an innovative e-learning leadership programme, improve your skills and employability and give something back to Manchester. You’ll also get the chance to gain the Manchester Leadership Award.
To find out more, see http://www.mlp.manchester.ac.uk/researchers/ and http://manchesterpgcareers.wordpress.com/2010/02/17/mlpr/. Then, just fill in our on-line application before noon, Thursday 25th March.
Application hint: Your application asks you to convince us of your commitment to the community project. This doesn’t need to be an essay – just let us know you’ve thought of the practicalities of fitting it around your research, work and home life.
