Are you a Hidden Gerontologist? MICRA Ageing PhD Network event – Wed 6th December
Does your research involve ageing or ageing populations? Are you interested in finding more about ageing research? The significance of this topic cannot be underestimated and has become a key feature in many research projects. Even if you have never previously thought of yourself as an ageing researcher, the Manchester Institute for Collaborative Research on Ageing (MICRA) would like to offer PhD students from all disciplines the opportunity to consider how ageing may impact or influence their research.
The MICRA Ageing PhD Network will be holding the Hidden Gerontologist event on Wednesday 6th December from 1pm – 4.30pm with the aim of bringing together PhD students who share an interest in this topic. The event will foster discussion about studying ageing, with an introduction from Prof Debora Price, Director of MICRA and President of the British Society of Gerontology (BSG), along with an inter-disciplinary panel discussion with researchers working on a variety of ageing-related topics. There will also be a workshop element where attendees will learn more about the BSG annual conference, with time to develop and get feedback on a submission for this year’s edition (which takes place in Manchester in 2018).
