Be kind. Building ‘kindness’ into your daily life is a good way to increase your confidence and feel more positive. Kindness is a behaviour and you can simply decide to behave differently rather than having to plan in specific activities. Here are 3 simple ways to introduce kindness into your everyday life:
1. Consider what you can choose NOT to do? Such as letting someone else have the last word, refraining from giving your opinion or letting go of grudges.
2. Speak kindly – give a compliment, notice when someone looks good and tell them that.
3. Be kind to yourself! This can be the thing we find most difficult – kind to others but cruel to ourselves. Don’t punish yourself if things go wrong – simply, let it go. Be kinder to ‘you’ by allowing time for yourself daily. Plan it in, stick to it and protect it! Don’t let others intrude on this special ‘me’ time.
