The Great Manchester Run is the largest 10K in the UK consisting of around 25,000 participants each year. For the past 2 years, the University has hosted its very own Purple Wave. In 2018 we hope to create the biggest mass entry yet, so come and run with us and be part of the 3,000 strong #PurpleWave
The run is taking place on Sunday, 20th May and would like to offer as many students, staff and alumni as possible the opportunity to run and support the city on this important day. We have discounted places for all our runners as well as free spaces to those who raise money to support young people from Greater Manchester through Undergraduate Access Scholarships at the University – see the link below for further details.
If you are a University of Manchester staff or student you can purchase your place for a heavily reduced price of £20 for students and £30 for staff (down from £38).
You don’t have to be a regular runner to join and there are great training plans for all levels of fitness. For PhD students, it’s a great opportunity to incorporate some exercise into your week and help manage your time and personal well being!
