REALabs PGRs/ECRs Professional Training and Engagement Projects kicks off in April. Once again this exciting programme of actives are accepting applications and we are encouraging NWDTC to apply.
Doctoral and postdoctoral researchers affiliated to one of the institutions of the NWCDTP (University of Manchester, University of Salford, RNCM, MMU, Keele, Lancaster and University of Liverpool) are invited to participate in the 2018 programme of research engagement projects and professional training.
The programme provides an opportunity to develop and demonstrate leadership, creativity, project management and influencing skills through bringing research in contact with current challenges experienced within the broader community.
Researchers can apply to work on one of the collaborative projects presented by our 2018 cultural partners – FutureEverything, Museum of Science and Industry and The National Trust – or to develop their own project idea as part of the REAlab Researcher-Led initiative. Successful applicants will be part of a cohort of post-graduate and early-career researchers benefiting from a comprehensive professional development scheme including:
- A three-day intensive professional training course (19-21 April 2018)
- Tailored one-to-one support for teams to develop a project proposal for the pitch
- A mentoring scheme and further training opportunities during project delivery
- A dissemination fund (£200) for all project teams
- The opportunity to be awarded the REAlab Team Project Excellence Award (£1000)
Participation into projects is open to teams (2+ members). Individual researchers who are not part of a team are advised to attend the REAlab Training Course in April – where they will have the possibility to team up with like-minded colleagues with common interests and ideas and develop a project proposal.
The application process will open on the 21sth March and close at H.12:00, 5 April 2018.
Full details regarding the programme and how to apply can be found at www.realab.org.
*Accommodation and travel bursaries for out-of-Manchester attendants are available to attend the training course (see Training Application Form).
